Fractal Strategy: Service Design and Patient Experience

Fractal is a consultancy driven by experienced design professionals in various fields, from industry to academia, who decided to establish their own company dedicated to strategic design, service design, and UX design. Our purpose is the transformation of key organizations for society. We work with public administrations that are committed to digitalization in order to make their services more accessible to citizens, healthcare institutions that strive to provide a better patient experience, and the most innovative companies that align their development with the needs of their customers.

We believe in critical thinking, active listening, and co-creation, and we apply the principles of human-centered design in our work. We promote this practice through our own communication, our connection with the university, and by training professionals from other sectors who, like us, believe that design can help us make better decisions, solve complex problems, and connect people.

Service Designer

As a service and interaction designer in the Fractal team, I will conduct the different field and desktop tasks related to the research, co-creation and evaluation process to extend and evaluate the MetroMapping methodology to improve the cancer patient experience in healthcare.

Javier Fernández-Carrión

Co-founder of Fractal Strategy

As a service and interaction designer and co-funder of Fractal, I’ll lead the integration of decision support tools developed by other working groups into the MetroMapping methodology and evaluate it by co-designing patient paths to improve the experience of oncology patients in healthcare.

Sara Juste Lasierra

Senior Service Designer at Fractal Strategy

In my position as senior service and interaction designer in the Fractal team, my main responsibility will be to lead the research, co-creation and evaluation process to extend and assess the MetroMapping methodology to improve the cancer patient experience in healthcare.

Carlos Romero Piqueras

Co-founder of Fractal Strategy and Professor of Service Design (UNIZAR)

As a co-founder of Fractal and a service designer with experience in the Spanish healthcare sector, I will coordinate the various stakeholders and the design team to extend the MetroMapping methodology with the aim of improving the experience of oncology patients through a user-centred approach.
